What we do is set out the procedure honestly, including the parts that take longer than the brochures admit: an ACRO certificate, an FCDO apostille, a payment that has to clear a British bank.
How we check what we publish
Figures on this site come from published government material and from the programme's own documents. Where a number is disputed in the industry — the count of visa-free destinations is the usual example — we give the figure we can support and say what it rests on.
